Nadia Perez, a 2025 graduate of Morton East, showcased her talents at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference by competing in the Culinary Arts competition this past weekend. She achieved remarkable success, finishing in the top 10 as a National Finalist and securing 2nd place!

Upon receiving her plaque, Nadia was surprised with a professional chef kit valued at over $1,000, along with a golden ticket invitation to compete in the Junior World Food Championships this October in Indianapolis. Congratulations, we are all extremely proud of you!

David Reyes and Maria Tinoco from Morton East proudly represented Team Illinois in the Senior Individual Performances at National History Day 2025, held at the University of Maryland. They presented their projects to NHD judges on June 10th! Their journey began in January, where they dedicated themselves to researching and developing their projects, centered around the 2025 theme: Rights and Responsibilities in History, and continued until Nationals in June.

Despite not securing a place or receiving special awards, their achievement of being among over 3,000 students from all 50 states and U.S. territories at National History Day is extraordinary!

During the June Board meeting, the Board of Education acknowledged various student groups, such as Pharmacy Tech students for receiving their licenses, and the Boys’ Rugby, Girls’ Rugby, and Boys’ Track & Field teams for reaching State. Congratulations to our students for achieving these significant milestones in both their academic and athletic journeys!

Congratulations to our West Engineering students for heading to State! This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for engineering. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Good luck, and know that the entire Morton community is cheering you on!

Congratulations to our East & West Culinary students who are advancing to the FCCLA NATIONALS in July! Their dedication and passion for the culinary arts have truly paid off. As they prepare to showcase their skills on a national stage, we wish them the best of luck and know they will represent our community with pride and excellence.

On March 1st, 41 students and their 17 projects traveled to UIC for the Chicago Metro History Fair Contest. Many of these students were part of Bilingual American History Classes, EL Collaboration Junior English, Junior Core U.S. History, EL Collaboration APUSH and APUSH classes. We're proud to announce that 13 of our Mustangs will be heading down to State on Illinois History Day in Springfield. Congratulations to all!
